Covid-19 positive cases spike to 61 with 12 new cases in Mysuru

With new 38 virus cases on Friday, total cases rise to 353 in Karnataka

Mysuru, April 17:- With 12 fresh cases detected in Mysuru on Friday, the total number of positive Covid-19 cases reached 61.

Total of 73 cases has been detected so far in Mysuru and with 12 discharges, and the tally stands at 61 on Friday.

The 12 fresh cases that are reported from Mysuru are linked to Jubilant Pharma company at Nanjangud in Mysuru district. The employees are residents of Vijayanagar 1st and 2nd Stages, Gokulam, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Nagar 2nd Stage (3 cases), Jayalakshmipuram, Janata Nagara, Kuvempunagara, JP Nagar and Srirampura 2nd Stage, all from Mysuru city.

With 38 new cases on Friday, the Covid-19 tally has risen to 353 in Karnataka.

Out of 38 cases, 9 are from Bengaluru Urban, Malavalli in Mandya district  – 3 cases, Upinangadi in Dakshina Kannada – one, Bidar – one, Vijayapura – two, Hospet in Ballari district – 7 and Mysuru – 12 cases.

P-318 to P-321 are employees and their family members of infamous pharma company Jubilant Generics at Nanjangud in Mysuru district.

P-318 to P-320 is a contact of P-52 while P-319 contracted the virus from P-273.

P-341 to P-348 cases are linked again to Jubilant pharma company in Nanjangud and contracted the virus through P-52.

P-316 and P-317 from Bengaluru Urban is a 55-year-old man and 11-year-old girl and their contact tracing is underway.

P-322 to P-324 cases are from Malavalli in Mandya district who is a contact of P-171; P-325 is from Uppinangadi in Dakshina Kannada district and has a travel history to Delhi on March 28.

P-326 and P-327 are from Bengaluru Urban and they are a 6-year-old child and 25-year-old woman who is in contact with P-252.

P-328 is a 18-year-old youth from Bidar who was in contact with the person who had travelled to Delhi, while P-329 and P-330 belong to Vijayapura and had contact with P-221.

P-331 to P-337 are from Hospet in Bellari district. P-331 is a 39-year-old man, a contact of P-89, P-90, P-91 and P-141.

P-332 is a 68-year-old woman, P-333 is a 21-year-old man, P-334 is a 48-year-old man, P-335 is a 10-year-old child, P-336 is a 50-year-old man, P-337 is a 24-year-old man, all from Hospet and in contact with P-141.

P-338 is a 36-year-old man, P-339 is a 20-year-old youth, P-340 is a 9-year-old child, all residents of Chikkaballapur and who were in contact with P-250.

P-349 is a 64-year-old woman from Bengaluru Urban who has a history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI), P-350 is a 32-year-old man, P-351 is a 23-year-old man, P-352 is a 28-year-old man, P-353 is a 21-year-old man, all from Bengaluru Urban and their contact tracing is underway as per the official website of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Karnataka.

28 men and seven women and three children are among the infected today.
